Aubrey's Baptism

I'm still far behind, but I'm getting closer and closer to being caught up... three weeks ago, August 10th, this beautiful girl was baptized.

Parker had been a ward missionary and that turned out to be a very cool experience for our family.  Aubrey had been taking the missionary discussions for two years.  Yep.  We were able to have her meet with the Elders at our home a couple times and it was just fun to see her.

The first time we met her she walked in and said, "Oh, is that the Salt Lake temple?  That's where I want to be married" so we knew that she was already thinking baptism.  Long story short, her parents had been divorced when she was younger than Ruby.  They had been married in the temple and neither one was active anymore.  She lived with her mom who had asked to have her records removed from the church.

Aubrey was scared to tell her mom that she wanted to be baptized.  She made the decision while we were in Utah and we came back to find that that relationship was not doing as well as we would have hoped.  Aubrey was living with a friend, preparing to move to her Dad's in Missouri as soon as she was baptized.

Sure takes a lot of guts.

Parker and I feel blessed that we got to be a part of that special day for Aubrey.  It was beautiful.  She had asked me to share my testimony and asked Parker to confirm her.  We were honored to be a part of it.

Two days before this, Parker received a new calling so he would no longer be a ward missionary.  We are so glad we got to witness Aubrey's conversion and baptism in such a hands on way.
