For as long as I can remember, my father insists that everyone gets out of the house on Christmas Eve. This was so great when we were little because my parents would pay for us to go to a movie (by ourselves!! Okay, obviously we weren't all really little) or go bowling...
As Danny and Adam are still at home and my dad still totally does Christmas Traps (another post for another day) he still mandated everyone leave.
We happily made our way to Matt and Kaylin's cute new house that we hadn't seen since we'd moved to Texas and then walked over to Nickelcade. Yep. Nickelcade. And it was awesome.
We put Ruby in this little car thinking she would like it, but the second it started moving, she started freaking out. She was not a fan. Whoops. Good thing it was only 5 cents!
We did a contest of sort where we decided whoever had the most tickets also got to keep everyone else's. Danny won! Woot. Truthfully though, I don't even know what he picked for his prize...
Parker has always loved to conquer the world in Time Crisis 3... he and Wojo used to play it at the dollar theater before their missions. Before we moved to Texas, they stopped at the dollar theater for one last blast and beat the whole game. Except it takes quarters and not nickels there. So when Parker saw that Nickelmania had it, he convinced me to play with him. We beat the entire thing in less than $3.00! Not too shabby. As you can tell, we were incredibly focused.
Ruby had a blast too- watching Andrew to magic and make things disappear and then, of course asking "where go??"
She also is entirely obsessed with Adam and wanted him to hold her as we walked back to Matt and Kaylin's house. He's a pretty cute uncle...
That night we were able to go to the Anderson Family Christmas Party- which was wonderful. Although we naturally loved Grammy's cheesebricks, the highlight was the talent show. Parker's family is one of those families that seems to have gotten all of the performance talent. I just pray some of our kids will get that from him... anyway, it was wonderful. My favorites though, were these cute girls singing. They were also Ruby's favorites.

As Ruby got tired (the binky in her mouth and hand in her hair are indicators of that) and the night winded down at Grammy and Grandpa's, we left. When we got back to my parents' house though, the Naylor Family Christmas party was still going! It was actually really nice to be able to see all of my cousins and aunts and uncles as well. We have two pretty amazing families... So happy we got to celebrate Christmas with them!
