Just Jammin'

When Parker and I first met, he was teaching guitar lessons.  In fact, he had taught guitar lessons in High School and continued to teach for the first two years of our marriage.  The perk to it was that it kept him playing his guitar more regularly.

Once his guitar is out, he has a hard time putting it away.  He'll say he is just going to play "one last song."  For an hour.  Actually, most of the time, I really don't mind that at all.  It's nice to hear him playing.

Ruby loves it, too.  We haven't decided anything for certain as we have a lot of time before music lessons become a part of our life, but we are pretty sure we would have our kids take lessons from someone else.  There's just something about having a music teacher outside the home that seems like a good idea...

But the other night, Ruby decided she was ready for her first lesson.  Parker was playing and, at first she listened nicely and then she decided to help him with some chords.  Then some strumming.  It wasn't long before she was also singing with him.  Melt my heart.  What a good daddy to let her interrupt his jam session.
